COVID Policies
Despite vaccinations, air purification, and masks, receiving bodywork is still a risk due to being in close proximity for a prolonged time in an enclosed space. We want both ourselves and clients to feel as safe and comfortable as possible while being treated so please ask questions and we will do the same.
For transparency about our activities/exposure levels:
- We have been fully vaccinated since April 2021, and got our booster shots in September 2021.
- Properly fitting masks are required at all times (no bandanas/neck gaiters). We will be wearing a mask at all times, and we can provide one for you if needed.
- Clients are required to read our Client Expectations list (button below) and be taking the pandemic seriously. You must be free of any cold/flu/covid symptoms before coming to our studio.
- We will allow at least 30min between clients to let the air purifier circulate the air. We will have a Levoit Core 300 True HEPA Air Purifier in our treatment room. Our treatment room and the waiting room both have windows that can be open depending on the situation, outside temperature, etc.
- Each client will have fresh linens and blanket.
- All surfaces that you or your therapist will come in contact within the course of your session (i.e. massage table, chair, side table, door handles, lotion bottle, bolster, square payment processor) will have been sanitized prior to your appointment.
- Your session will be postponed and fees will be waived in the event of ANY related COVID symptoms or potential exposure. If a household member isn't feeling well, please consider yourself exposed. We will likewise inform you if either of us are ill/exposed.
- Bathroom will be sanitized at least daily.
- If another practitioner in the office is seeing clients, we will make efforts to stagger arrivals/departures.
- In the event of possible exposure/spike in local cases/changes in circumstances, we may close the Unwind Massage studio and cancel any appointments with short notice.
- Any expiration dates on pre-pandemic packages or gift certificates are waived.
- We are following required regulations for personal services per the Oregon Health Authority.
For transparency about our activities/exposure levels:
- We are consistently masked/distanced anytime we are around other people indoors in public.
- Our other business, Sweetbody Laboratories, is a home-based business and we do not come in contact with the general public during our normal business hours.
- We will be selling our Sweetbody Laboratories’ body care products at indoor and outdoor craft markets in the Portland area throughout the year. We are consistently masked/distanced at these events, and sanitize our hands after we touch anything or anyone.
- We must be strict on these policies in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. We reserve the right to cancel your session if we feel it is not safe enough to treat you.
ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS
If the front door is locked, text when you’re outside, and we will come down to let you in. There are other practitioners working in the building and the front door is often locked - this policy is for everyone’s safety. If you are early, text us to see if we’re ready.
Please sanitize your hands upon entering the office.
We are unable to provide water after your session, so please bring a water bottle/have one in your car.

Masks are required and if you forget/do not have one, we will provide you with one. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, we are unable to treat you at this time. Please note that bandanas or neck gaiters are not adequate protection.
Payment is accepted at the time of your session. We accept cash and card.
Please understand that protocols/policies may change or be updated with little notice as information about the virus becomes available. Please contact us with any questions or concerns - this is a learning experience for all of us!
